Heather is the awesome aunt of the adorable kids from the previous post. I am extremely glad that I was in Minnesota when I was, because not too long after I took Heather's maternity shots - she had a baby! Though Miss Charlie was born early, she is doing well and appears healthy and happy (at least from the photos I have seen!) It seems that I now have to try to figure out a way to get back there to take some of Charlie's baby pictures. ;-) Here are some of the shots that I enjoyed the most from my session with Heather.
These were supposed to be a set of posed pictures,
While in Minnesota, I was able to get a photo shoot done of my cousin's children. It was a pretty hectic shoot! There were 4 kids to take pictures of and we were trying to get it all done right before a birthday party was about to start! Some of the kids were more into the camera than others, but I was able to snap shots of everybody smiling. It was a ton of fun and I'm really happy with how all the photos turned out.
They were all singing Patty-Cake in an attempt to cheer up the baby
And one shot of the birthday boy pretending to blow the candles out on his cake!
Amie originally planned not to have any belly pictures taken because she said she wasn't far enough along. However, after seeing her for some family photos that I took, I stole her away and made her pose for a couple of maternity shots. I'm glad I did! Her stomach was the perfect size for some adorable belly-photos.
While in Minnesota, I was given the pleasure of taking photos of Amie, Dave, and their son, Carson. Amie is an old family friend (she used to babysit me!) and I love that I was able to photograph them. Despite being 2 years old, Carson was a wonderful and well-behaved subject. I'd love to be back in Minnesota sometime this winter, giving me the opportunity to be able to take pictures of Baby #2 (after he/she makes his/her arrival). Who knows? It's always a possibility.
Here are some of my favourite photos from the shoot.
I love everyone's look in this one. Carson looks like he is trying to cause some mischief - which Dave finds comical - all while Amie has the "I'm-the- mom-so-you-listen-to-me!" expression. This is why candid shots are my favourite shots!
I mostly shoot (but am not limited to) maternity sessions, births, and family portraits. I am an on-location photographer, which means I take my camera and equipment to a place where you (and your family) feel most comfortable (your own home, a park, anywhere!) I've found that people take the best pictures in a place that is familiar to them. My photos are mix of posed and candid shots with a variety of traditional and non-traditional poses.
